    Logistics Management Specialist

    The United Service Organizations (USO), the internationally renowned service organization which provides support for active U.S. military personnel and their families, is currently recruiting for a Logistics Management Specialist. This position will create and manage policy for day to day logistics, including transportation, procurement and third party contractual agreements, for movement of materials throughout the world. This position is based in our corporate office in Arlington, VA.

    Responsibilities:
    •Develop strategy for the USO to mainstream advanced transportation operations for movement of materials throughout the world
    •Provide policy, technical and administrative program guidance for transportation operations for military sourcing, commercial carrier sourcing, and customs issues
    •Develop policy and implement system wide procedures
    •Source transportation, shipping and other vendors, negotiating terms and conditions of purchase agreements
    •Manage contracts, including cost/price analysis, contract administration and contract compliance
    •Manage other projects as determined and assigned

    Requirements:
    •Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Management, Systems Engineering, or closely related field
    •4 to 6 years of related experience, including previous experience with military logistics arms
    •In depth expertise related to logistics management and movement of materials nationally and internationally, including customs regulations
    •Knowledge of and experience with contract negotiation, administration and compliance
    •Proficiency with MS Office
    •Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
    •Ability to travel worldwide

    Director, Volunteer Services

This position is based in our corporate office in Arlington, VA.

    Responsibilities:
    •Create and implement policies and procedures that standardize the work of all USO volunteers worldwide to include recruiting, training, evaluating, recognizing, and ensuring activities meet needs
    •Develop and manage a recognition program
    •Create innovative ways to utilize volunteers
    •Keep updated records and related statistics
    •Conduct regular surveys and work with other organizations to develop partnerships

    Requirements:
    •Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on business
    •3-5 years management in nonprofits; proven experience in working with and/or leading volunteers
    •Familiarity with volunteer concepts, practices, and procedures
    •Understanding of USO field operations a distinct advantage
    •Strong written and verbal communication skills
    •Superior planning and organizational skills
    •Ability to travel

    Web Communications Manager

    The United Service Organizations (USO), the internationally renowned service organization which provides support for active U.S. military personnel and their families, is currently recruiting for a Web Communications Manager. This position is based in our corporate office in Arlington, VA.

    Responsibilities:
    •Manage the USO’s online presence via the USO website and social media to increase USO visibility and stakeholder engagement
    •Manage the web-posting process by guiding and assisting content contributors in writing submissions for creating new web pages
    •Create, edit and publish content (still and video imagery and text) to the USO website, intranet and Ning network site to ensure organizational updates are made in a timely manner
    •Ensure the quality, integrity and accuracy of all information submitted for posting to the website
    •Manage the USO’s social media engagement, including providing oversight for the USO’s Ning network and third-party social media engagement (e.g., Facebook, MySpace and YouTube).
    •Prepare, coordinate and post online graphic and textual communications materials
    •Design, test, administer, analyze and produce reports using online feedback and research surveys and other mechanisms, such as web metrics, media room metrics, customer satisfaction surveys, etc
    •Manage USO’s online media room

    Requirements:
    •Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English or other related field is required
    •3 to 5 years of experience (minimum); prior experience in web site content management
    •Experience in executing online marketing tactics
    •Experience with online communication and writing for the web medium.
    •Proficiency with Mac OS X, Microsoft Office, Adobe CS4 (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, Acrobat)
    •A full understanding of HTML authoring, CSS (cascading style sheets) and web development standards
    •Strong project management and organizational skills, including extreme attention to detail
    •Excellent communicator, with strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as a strong project management and organizational skills
    •Ability to work in fast- paced and team-oriented environment and independently organize work resources with the capability to work on multiple projects and/or assignments simultaneously.

    Coordinator, Programs & Services

    The United Service Organizations (USO), the internationally renowned service organization which provides support for active U.S. military personnel and their families, is currently recruiting for a Coordinator of Programs and Services.
    This position is based in our corporate office in Arlington, VA.

    Key Responsibilities
    •Fulfilling and distributing orders for new and existing programs
    •Coordinate distribution of products and services related to programs, out to USO Centers and Forward Operating Locations, as necessary
    •Tracking and compiling all feedback from existing programs
    •Support the Programs & Services team in the development of new programs
    •Oversee all shipping of in-kind donations as related to program delivery including creating tracking systems and soliciting assistance from corporate sponsors, in concert with USO corporate Development, when necessary
    •Update monthly, at a minimum, the USO web site, in coordination with USO corporate Communications, with new program information received from the Programs Managers
    •Field and prioritize telephone calls and e-mails from companies interested in working with the USO in creating new programs. Coordinate all Programs & Services correspondence, including thank-you letters and rejection letters for companies interested in working with the USO on program delivery, with the VP Operations, Programs and Services
    •Coordinate Programs and Services participation in tradeshows and conferences with USO corporate Communications and Development

    Requirements
    •Bachelor Degree or 4 years equivalent of administrative experience.
    •2 years experience as Program or Project Coordinator
    •1 year experience working with project financials
    •Prior social-service experience or USO knowledge a plus
    •Fully proficient with Windows XP or Vista and Microsoft Office Suite

    The USO seeks an experienced Recruiter to join the global HR team of the international non-profit organization dedicated to providing morale-boosting programs and services to enhance the quality of life for military personnel and their families around the world.     Successful candidate will have strong Recruitment experience providing full life cycle recruitment across multiple disciplines for exempt, non-exempt and executive level positions.     Key Responsibilities:

    Requirements:

    •Action-oriented, creative team player and leader who has the proven ability to develop effective relationships and think strategically.
    •Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities in busy environment; able to produce results in a deadline driven environment

This position is based in our World Headquarters office in Arlington, VA.

    Key Responsibilities of the position will include: serving as liaison to our Board of Directors, managing multiple projects, coordinating domestic and international travel for executives, providing general administrative support to the President, and the planning and organization of annual board meetings.

    This high-profile role requires an experienced professional with 5-10 years of executive level administrative support and superior administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills. Solid project management experience, discretion, the ability to effectively multi-task, excellent oral and written communication skills, expert computer skills (database experience helpful), strong attention to detail, the ability to set and meet deadlines, and the ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision also required.
